This song was originally on my first album, picked up by Clive Davis for Barry Manilow. There were versions by Glen Campbell, Ann Murray and others back then.
Lay Me Down (Roll Me Out To Sea) was one of the songs on my ‘Black & Blue Suite’ in 1974.
Quite a few songs were covered on that album, but this song especially. Clive Davis gave it to Barry Manilow, who did a few versions including a duet with Trisha Yearwood. Originally this song was a last minute add to my album.
